It starts with dinner. Actual dinner, cooked by actual people, before anything religious happens. If you only ever come for the food and the conversation, that’s genuinely fine.

You just got here. This is the easy part.
This church was started in 1993 by Chinese students at Baylor who were far from home and wanted somewhere to be. Thirty-odd years later that’s still most of what it does.

Worship in song, then a message from the Bible. It’s in Mandarin, and if you don’t understand it we’ll bring you headphones and interpret. Sit at the back if you want to. Plenty of people did on their first day.
What we aren’t going to pretend
Moving countries for a degree is lonely in a way that’s hard to describe to people back home. The first semester is admin, bad sleep, and food that’s nearly right. A church can’t fix that.
What it can do is be a room, at a fixed time, every week, where people know your name and there’s something hot to eat. That turns out to matter more than it sounds.
Baylor Bible Bears 大学生组
Known as BBB, the group is mostly Baylor undergraduates and graduate students, many of them a long way from home for the first time.
